My project is influenced by the work of concept art, since I chose to go down the lines of 2D art. Following the structure of concept art that I initially researched, I used that structure to develop my piece for the project. I don’t think my project has been affected much by my research into the historical and contemporary influences. It was mostly used created through the research I did based on the theme that was given to me.
For this piece, I have focused more on the art style I have researched, that being a screen printing style. I have used it before in a previous piece, however, as this project would have more details added to it, this was a chance to properly use it. I also learned about more features on Photoshop, to help make my piece stand out.
I think the use of my preferred art style is becoming much better, and I love how my project piece came out. I also enjoy using Maya as a block out to come up with environmental scenes, it certainly helps with perspective and to come up with nicely designed scenes. Although I do like the ultimate result, I do think I should work more on how to use shading for this sort of art style. Another thing I could consider is rather than do a simple diorama on a stage, I could do a full canvas sized environmental piece.
Among most of my feedback, they inquire that my work is good, but I could always add more. This being adding more imagery, or more annotation to my screenshots. I can agree with this, because I mostly add what I can, but sometimes, I am not sure what else I can add.
As well as the skills I have learnt through this project, it has also helped me to grasp the idea of how planning for such a project works. It helped for when I needed to look back at my research for help and inspiration whenever I am struggling to come up with ideas for my initial concept art generation.
