4.2 New Portfolio Work

Above are two drawings that I did at the same time. I initially drew some characters traditionally, and then had my tutor pick out two that they liked. I then went on to draw these characters digitally on Photoshop, and then apply the skill of my preferred art style – screen printing – to practice. I think the female character came out better of the two, however I do believe I could improve with these pieces. For these pieces, I also included a photo of the original drawing I did on paper to show the progress.

Having recently completed my diorama project, based on the Western theme, I decided to submit the work I completed onto my online portfolio. It includes three pieces, the whole diorama, then the initial stage, and then another piece showcasing the asset I have chosen. I am very proud of the layout for this project, although it does appear very simple. It was also a good chance to practice my screen printing technique on Photoshop, and I thought it came out very well.

Above are some more recent human characters I have drawn. I have recently done sessions about drawing anatomy and how to properly proportion body parts, so I tried to put them to use to draw some characters I have designed before in my personal time. I am very proud of how they came out, and am looking forward to continuing such designs, hopefully to expand my style.

These next three pieces are a lot more personal to me, as I am a fan of the Sonic franchise, and these are some characters I have made with a friend, and I decided to have a go at drawing them. I applied more anatomy and proportioning to make the characters appear better, and I am very proud of how they turned out. I have done a lot more, but these three were some of the best ones I have done recently.

Above are a couple more human drawings I decided to have a go at for my portfolio. As I get better with the drawings, I try to do more ambitious poses, as well as try out different hairstyles and clothing for my characters, trying to make them appear more complex or more detailed. I love how they are coming, although I do think I need to work more on the bottom half of the drawings, particularly with the legs and feet.
